Lake County, Illinois runs a free online map called Lake County Maps Online, built and kept up by the county's GIS Division. Open maps.lakecountyil.gov/mapsonline, accept the disclaimer, and zoom to the parcel you want. The county's GIS page also links a Tax Parcel Viewer, a Historic Parcels map, Historic Aerials and the 1840 Federal Township Plats, so you can see how a lot has changed over time. The 2025 spring aerial photos are available as a basemap. The county notes the maps are for general reference only, and a registered land surveyor should confirm exact boundary lines. For parcel questions, the Chief County Assessment Office in Waukegan answers at 847-377-2050, and the GIS Division at 847-377-2388.
